The Power of Surrender
At the age of 19, I was in a terrible car accident that left me with debilitating back and neck pain. At 23, I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and 2 herniated discs in my low back. I was in so much pain that I couldn’t bend over to touch my toes. I was told by doctors that I needed surgery and was prescribed medications to ease the pain. Thankfully, I didn’t have the surgery but I grew dependent on drugs and alcohol to numb the pain. Exercise was out of the question. I had never been one to exercise, but the thought of trying to move my body more than sitting on the couch was overwhelming.
At 27, I found yoga and Pilates and began to change my life. At age 33 with my husband and two baby boys (just 18 months apart), I moved to Florida and started Beach Yoga with Kerri. I ran local yoga classes at the beach for just $5. Everything seemed perfect except my marriage was falling apart. My husband and I separated due to his alcoholism and my son was diagnosed with Autism. My world was devastated. I began searching for healing, not only for my fibromyalgia, but in my marriage and for my son.
It took many years of prayer, therapy, marriage counseling, 12 step recovery, and faith in God to restore what was lost. In those years, I found a deep relationship with God on my yoga mat. I began to understand how God speaks to us through our bodies and our minds and how it is possible to surrender and trust that everything is exactly the way that it is supposed to be.
Today, my husband and I have the relationship I have always dreamed of and both my children are doing amazing. No, it hasn’t been easy, but it has been worth it. I am living a life I never thought possible. I can do things with my body that doctors told me was impossible. My desire is to help others also discover that they too can change and find freedom in their mind, body, and spirit. I’m here to tell you change can happen for anyone. All it takes is a willing spirit and the courage to take the first step.

This is another amazing Pilates Magic Circle class that will work your entire body in 30 minutes. We will use the ring in a fun and dynamic way to help you gain flexibility and strength in both the upper body and the lower body. All levels are welcome to take this class.
This class combines weights with Yoga to give you an amazing toning and lengthening practice. You will want two light hand weights for this class and maybe two yoga blocks. All levels are welcome to join this practice!
